Alaska features a brief compilation of travel clips I shot throughout summer 2014. Although I did not originally expect to use these clips for any purposes other than to have them saved among my personal video archives, I ultimately decided to make an editing exercise out of some of what I'd accumulated. This video incorporates footage from multiple camera sources shot during various day-trips and other adventures across the state. Cameras include the Canon 60D, Canon XA25, and most often the iPhone 5s. This was the first time I ever incorporated iPhone media into an editor for basic effects/color correction, and I was very pleased with the results and how the footage handled in the program.

When it comes down to it, this video was really an excuse to try out the newest version of DaVinci Resolve (v.11). I had been wanting to try the software, but had been holding out in hopes of having a more substantial project to test it with. In addition to this learning opportunity, I was also able to consolidate my footage into a purposeful collection I could share with friends and family to provide them with a glimpse of the more scenic places I visited in Alaska.
